UTA’s for Balder Future Project

Project Description

The Balder field is located in the Norwegian Sector of the North Sea, and comprises of the Balder Floating Production Unit (FPU), which is connected to five drill centers with subsea wells in daisy-chain configuration.

The general objective of the Balder Future Project is to increase production and recoverable reserves at the Balder field and to provide capacity for development of future discoveries in the area.

The UTA provides the subsea termination for the Umbilical on the field. The UTA breaks out the hydraulic, chemical, electrical/optical services from and to the umbilical; then distributes them to the ROV panels configured to suit the required services at the onward locations.

NLI Scope

Structural steel and piping; shop engineering, fabrication, assembly, FAT and packing for shipment of 10 off UTA’s.

All fabrication activities, such as steel work, piping and surface treatment, are performed in-house at NLIs premises with hands on follow-up and in close cooperation with Baker Hughes.
