Project Description

Nordenga bridge connects Bjørvika with inner city Oslo, by crossing the railway tracks on Oslo S. The bridge has two lanes and a divided five meters wide pedestrian and bicycle path.

The steel structure with its eye-catching detail, has a height of up to 35 meters to the north, the roadway itself is seven meters above ground level.
The design choice, with trusses and columns supporting the roadway, were based on a minimum number of columns within the track area.

The steel bridge has a length of 170 meters, and a total weight of 2100 tonnes.

NLI Scope

Steel fabrication and installation:
NLI was responsible for the 3D model as well as technical follow-up of the project.
The construction was manufactured in the Netherlands, and shipped/installed in 4 sections.
Launching of bridge sections and assembly works involved major coordination tasks with regard to train traffic.
