Associated CompaniesRainpower ASA Rainpower is a milestone to Norwegian hydropower industry. 150 years of competence and practice, is now again in Norwegian hands! Our history dates back to 1853 when Kvaerner Brug A/S was established by Oluf A. Onsum. Together with Soerumsand Verksted A/S, established by Ingebret Bøhn, Kvaerner Energy AS was bought by General Electric (GE) in 1999. In 2005, GE decided to sell the workshop in Soerumsand to the Norwegian company Norheim Larsen Industrier (NLI), and in 2007 they also decided to sell GE Energy Norway to the same company. At the same time, NLI chose to establish Rainpower ASA, that today consists of the office in Kjeller, the laboratory in Trondheim, the workshop in Soerumsand. Today, Rainpower is one of the leading actors within Norwegian, and international hydropower business, and is a complete supplier of technology, products and services to the hydropower industry.
