NLI awarded contract for CO2 capture test facility at MongstadPublished Thu, 10 Jun 2010 The contract covers detail piping design, prefabrication and installation of steel structures, including stairtowers and walkways, as well as piping. In addition the contract comprises installation of mechanical equipment purchased by Alstom. The company NLI Contracting is formally responsible for this project, however several of the other NLI companies will be involved and play a major part. NLI Alfr. Andersen will be in charge of steel and equipment installation. NLI Engineering Oil & Gas has since fall 2009 performed detail piping design on the project, and this contract is now implemented in the overall contract between NLI and Alstom. Alstom Norway AS is responsible for one of two CO2 capture test facilities to be built at the European CO2 Technology Centre Mongstad (TCM) . The test plant will be the first one of its kind to treat flue gas from a gas power plant. The technology to be used is Alstom's own chilled ammonia capture technology. NLI is very pleased with the award of this contract, which demonstrates that our strong and strategic focus on onshore plants has been successful. We also look forward to being a contributor to this important and reputable environmental project. NLI actuates the project immediately, and exptect to complete the work by March/April 2011.
